Esprida included as sample vendor of recommended technologies in Green I.T. report - Leading Industry Analyst Firm lists eight
technologies for 'Greener Services'.
Santa Barbara, CA - May 31, 2007 - A new Gartner report includes Esprida as a sample vendor of recommended technologies for organizations committed to providing greener
products and services. In "IT Organizations Will Need Eight Technologies to Provide 'Greener' Services", VP Distinguished Analyst Michael Maoz from Gartner says he expects
'heightened interest' in the list of eight technologies and recommends senior executives pay closer attention to these offerings as part of their efforts to reduce greenhouse gas
(GHG) emissions.
According to the report, "Eight technologies will take on urgency within IT organizations as hundreds of companies worldwide have committed to shareholders to reduce GHG
emissions anywhere from 5% to 12% during a five-year period".
Esprida remote management software allows enterprise level management and control of devices. The efficient use of resources to maintain deployed networks translates into
greater device uptime and fewer trips for service technicians.
Maoz refers to this kind of technology as IDM – Intelligent Device Management. He says "Anecdotal observations from 10 enterprises that have deployed IDM systems showed drops in
service technician travel of between 2% and 4%. For an enterprise that manufactures or manages capital equipment, IDM will become a critical part of operations".
Esprida President Anila Jobanputra says she believes the Gartner report is yet another indication of the huge potential in this technology. "We've been touting for years, as
have our customers, the various benefits remote device management, or IDM, brings to organizations with intelligent devices. Now that Gartner has published this report analyzing our
technology in terms of green initiatives, we're happy to work with companies to show them how Esprida Enterprise™ can help them in their efforts" says Jobanputra.
Some of the other technologies included in the Gartner list are: Parts Optimization, Field Technician Scheduling Optimization, Vehicle Locations services and Mapping Technology.
